I was actually quite disappointed that River Valley High School did not get gold with honours, they only got gold, in my opinion, the song was great and touching that made me cry.

Well, I guess RV is a pity. Their choice piece is great, but the dynamics in their set piece makes me feel like I'm riding a roller coaster. (Well, on a totally random note, maybe it's the curse of the choice piece, since they got gold also when they played the same choice piece in 2005 and got gold also).

they used ai shi which is sort of their fav song or sth...
they like to play it alot ha ha.

Yes, RV was using the same piece as 2005. I really like the song actually. Haha, the dynamics were like a roller coaster, up and down, loud and soft. As i know, RV has been performing this song quite oftenly since 1970s. And in 2007, they performed another song and they got gold with honours! I was really impressed by them and I thought the song was simply perfect. I even saw tears in some of the performers as I was sitting in front. Perphaps it is really the curse of the song. Its a great pity. When I went out for during the 20 minutes interval, most of them were crying.

GOOD JOB RVCO! with only 46 members and more than half who are totally new to chinese orchestra, well done, especially when official practices only started in march, practising for almost everyday ever since april, with all the hard work put in, proud of all of them!

i definitely agree with this. i think that they have been very brave to take part in SYF and my heart goes out for them. anyway i believe that they will be on the rise as the junior batches will be able to take part in the JC SYF say, 2 years later. then perhaps there will be an increasing number of JCCO powerhouses by then.
whatever it is, i believe that RVCO has done their best in both the secondary school and the JC SYF. great job (:

hello my dear juniors, 你们辛苦了。along the way, we've all seen you grow up, from not caring about the music, till having the 'i must get it' attitude. we've never been so sure of ourselves saying that RVCO can get GWH. the results were unexpected i must agree but it has never changed our views about you. YOU are that gold with honours to us, YOU are the ones who truly deserve the awards unlike some who totally do not deserve it. i detest, detest how we are put together with the rest. i hate it. i hate it when they say wu ti's a cursed piece.
爱诗came a long way and each time, the music gets better. 4 years down the road, we'll make a comeback with it. 2years down the road, we'll prove it to EVERYONE that we are the ones who truly deserve the award. even if we are unable to show the judges, when we have touched the audience's hearts, we have achieved our aims and are therefore successful.
but my dearest juniors, think about it again. you enjoyed the music, didn't you? as long as you enjoyed it, remember we are all proud of you. every single one, every single zhong ruan, da ruan, liuqin players - i'm extremely proud of you dears.
victoria, roxanne, yijia, kheehui, jovina, weiren, zhiying, fangran, shihui, jiaying: remember you have played in syf'09 and showed all the rest out there the power and love of rvco through 爱诗(:
