I was actually quite disappointed that River Valley High School did not get gold with honours, they only got gold, in my opinion, the song was great and touching that made me cry.

Well, I guess RV is a pity. Their choice piece is great, but the dynamics in their set piece makes me feel like I'm riding a roller coaster. (Well, on a totally random note, maybe it's the curse of the choice piece, since they got gold also when they played the same choice piece in 2005 and got gold also).

Yes, RV was using the same piece as 2005. I really like the song actually. Haha, the dynamics were like a roller coaster, up and down, loud and soft. As i know, RV has been performing this song quite oftenly since 1970s. And in 2007, they performed another song and they got gold with honours! I was really impressed by them and I thought the song was simply perfect. I even saw tears in some of the performers as I was sitting in front. Perphaps it is really the curse of the song. Its a great pity. When I went out for during the 20 minutes interval, most of them were crying.

i definitely agree with this. i think that they have been very brave to take part in SYF and my heart goes out for them. anyway i believe that they will be on the rise as the junior batches will be able to take part in the JC SYF say, 2 years later. then perhaps there will be an increasing number of JCCO powerhouses by then.
whatever it is, i believe that RVCO has done their best in both the secondary school and the JC SYF. great job (:

hello my dear juniors, 你们辛苦了。along the way, we've all seen you grow up, from not caring about the music, till having the 'i must get it' attitude. we've never been so sure of ourselves saying that RVCO can get GWH. the results were unexpected i must agree but it has never changed our views about you. YOU are that gold with honours to us, YOU are the ones who truly deserve the awards unlike some who totally do not deserve it. i detest, detest how we are put together with the rest. i hate it. i hate it when they say wu ti's a cursed piece.

爱诗came a long way and each time, the music gets better. 4 years down the road, we'll make a comeback with it. 2years down the road, we'll prove it to EVERYONE that we are the ones who truly deserve the award. even if we are unable to show the judges, when we have touched the audience's hearts, we have achieved our aims and are therefore successful.

but my dearest juniors, think about it again. you enjoyed the music, didn't you? as long as you enjoyed it, remember we are all proud of you. every single one, every single zhong ruan, da ruan, liuqin players - i'm extremely proud of you dears.

Hey zrlq,

Please don't feel disheartened by the unhappy incident today. I believe we are not forsaken until we have forsaken ourselves, no one decides what happen for SYF except everyone of us going up to the SCH stage.

I think to play a song well, we must love it. If we feel tired of what we are playing, that will be what the judges feel as well.

Let's enjoy the music we play, so that the judges will enjoy it as well. After all, music is supposed to be relaxing and not stressful. This might sound very credible due to the stress I have already shown. Forget everything now, let's approach this with no burden, just do everything for the music. Let the means define the ends-let the music define the GWH and not the other way round, as it is the less stressful way out. After many of us under-performed due to stress today, shows that stress is not needed for our music. I believe being IN the music can make up for all the technical errors, tai feng, stress etc. So let's visualise songs and dive into them, let's make that a point when we play so we get used to it. :D

Let's jiayou together, making full use of our remaining time, for our music. Go go go! Jiayou zrlq we can do it!

1.Section Outing
school may be starting soon but not to worry, cos there's still our section outing to look forward to!:D hmms, there's won't be any steamboat/bbq due to many people's budgets and lack of time for preparation so we'll just go for a simple lunch at vivo!:D then it'll be volleyball/cycling/tanning at sentosa for the afternoon and finally leave for home in the evening.
date: saturday, 3rd jan 2009
time: 12nn, meet at vivo basement
venue: vivo for lunch, sentosa
cost: lunch depending on what we're eating, maybe $10-15, sentosa $3, bike rent $8(?)
things to bring: remember to bring your toiletries if you're planning to get wet at sentosa! and volleyball/soccerball/basketball if you're planning to play.:D
P.S. ALL seniors are invited!:DDD

2.CCA Dates
cca will only offically start on 6th jan (tuesday) so there will be no cca on 3rd jan (saturday) but there will be a compulsory annual general meeting on 2nd jan (friday). please report to the co room at 2:30pm sharp.:)
